The European Commission has awarded EPOKA University with the prestigious Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE) for the upcoming academic years. This represents a significant milestone in the university's dedication to internationalization, academic excellence, and fostering a vibrant global learning environment.
The ECHE is a quality framework established by the European Commission and is awarded based on a careful evaluation of the Institution’s Internationalization Strategy and Erasmus Policy Statement, of the measures put in place to ensure the full respect of the Erasmus key principles and of the initiatives to support the programme priorities (such as active citizenship, digitalization, inclusion and sustainability). The Charter enables higher education institutions to participate in Erasmus+ activities, such as student and staff exchanges, joint projects, and collaborative initiatives with universities across Europe and beyond.
The awarding of the ECHE reflects EPOKA University's unwavering commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and excellence in education. It demonstrates the institution's readiness to engage in meaningful international collaborations and its dedication to providing students with opportunities that will shape their future careers and lives. Receiving the ECHE opens numerous opportunities for EPOKA University. It allows the university to enhance its existing partnerships and forge new collaborations with institutions worldwide. Students and staff will benefit from increased mobility, gaining valuable international experience and exposure to diverse educational environments.
"We are proud to receive the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education", said Prof. Dr. Ahmet Öztaş, the Rector of EPOKA University. "This award not only recognizes our efforts in promoting international cooperation but also empowers our students and staff to participate in transformative educational experiences across Europe and beyond".
With the ECHE, EPOKA University students will have the chance to study abroad at partner universities, enriching their academic and cultural perspectives. Faculty and staff will also have opportunities for professional development, research collaborations, and knowledge exchange, further enhancing the university's academic capabilities.
EPOKA University has always prioritized providing an education that prepares students for a globalized world and the Erasmus+ Programme plays a crucial role in this mission by fostering intercultural understanding, language skills, and a broader worldview.
As EPOKA University embarks on this new chapter with the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education, it looks forward to strengthening its role as a leading institution in the global academic community.
