On April 16, 2024, the Follow-up Workshop on “Learning Outcomes and Curricula Development” was organized by the Permanent Commission on Quality Assurance and Internal Quality Assurance Office in the framework of the second peer-counselling mission of the “Bologna Hub Peer Support II” project coordinated by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).
The workshop focused on the lessons learned and the reflections of EPOKA University from the first peer-counseling mission-related activity held on September 25, 2023, by the European Bologna Experts Prof. Anthony Vickers Emeritus Professor of Physics at the University of Essex, UK and Prof. Tatjana Volkova Professor at BA School of Business and Finance, Riga, Latvia,
The workshop commenced with a welcome address delivered by the rector of EPOKA University, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Öztaş. The first session of the activity included presentations on the EPOKA University Guidelines on “Formulating Learning Outcomes and Validating their Achievement Through Assessment”, by Dr. Heliona Miço, Chairperson of the Permanent Commission on Quality Assurance, and Ms. Flogerta Hasanaj, Quality Assurance Officer.
During the second part of the activity EPOKA University academic staff, who are part of the Quality Assurance Structures, Dr. Armando Demaj, Dr. Fatbardha Morina, Dr. Armanda Tola, and Dr. Heliona Miço presented their course improvements regarding the formulation of the Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs) based on Bloom's Taxonomy and based on LOLA methodology, which implies writing the learning outcome, determine the learning pathway, and design the assessment methodology all at the same time to ensure constructive alignment between them.
All the presentations received feedback from the European Bologna Experts Prof. Anthony Vickers Emeritus Professor of Physics at the University of Essex, UK, and Prof. Tatjana Volkova Professor at BA School of Business and Finance, Riga, Latvia.
The experts stated that they were satisfied so far regarding the work conducted by EPOKA University and that they expect the full implementation of the mentioned Guidelines by all the academic staff and departments.
