On April 03, 2025, EPOKA University hosted the meeting of the General Assembly of the League of Private Universities “John of Dyrrachium”.
The Chairperson of the Governing Board of the League, Prof. Dr. Et’hem Ruka, at the same time Rector of “Luarasi” University, made the opening remarks by focusing on the expansion of the League with new members, improving of teaching conditions, internationalization, facilitating visa procedures for foreign students, and the process of the recognition of diplomas obtained outside Albania. Proposals on all these topics have been submitted to the relevant public authorities through a well-developed draft-document prepared by the League.
The first topic on the agenda of the meeting was the assessment of the membership applications of a number of private universities, among which was also EPOKA University. The applications were approved unanimously by the members of the League.
The agenda continued with other topics such as the approval of the official logo of the League, proposed changes to the Law on Higher Education, internationalization of higher education, collaboration with the Academic Network of Albania, diploma recognition, cooperation between higher education institutions, raising awareness of the League among staff and students of the member institutions and adoption of the budget of the League.
Participants shared their insights and experiences on each topic of the agenda, emphasizing the importance of close cooperation through the creation of working groups in each member institution.
The meeting was closed with a campus tour around EPOKA, where everyone praised not only the infrastructure, but also the place that EPOKA occupies in the reality of Albanian higher education.
