EPOKA University proudly welcomed Ms. Edit Shkreli, the first Albanian female judge in the USA. The esteemed judge engaged students and the Department of Law in a captivating discussion about her remarkable journey and the challenges she overcame to achieve this historic milestone.
Judge Shkreli was warmly welcomed by the Rector of EPOKA University, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Öztaş, the Dean of the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lisen Bashkurti, the Head of the Departmant of Law, Dr. Gentjan Skara, and other representatives of the university, who valued her visit and dedication to justice.
One of the highlights of the event was Judge Shkreli's discussion on the topic of "Judicial Integrity: Upholding Trust and Justice in the Albanian Legal System." Her profound understanding of the subject matter and her commitment to upholding the principles of fairness and transparency sparked thought-provoking dialogue among attendees, making everyone realize how crucial the judiciary is in maintaining a fair society.
Among the participants were esteemed senior advisor of the Embassy of the Netherlands,Ms. Edlira Osmani and Professor Gledis Nano. Professor Gledis Nano shed light on the importance of integrity as a judge and emphasized the journey, the effort every student must undertake to achieve success. Shkreli's visit stimulated inspiration and meaningful conversations about justice and integrity within both Albanian and American legal systems.
