On April 24, 2025, in the framework of ongoing cooperation with the University of Amsterdam, the Department of Law at EPOKA University organized an open lecture titled European Direct and Indirect Taxation.
The session, moderated by Associate Professor Gelanda Shkurtaj, featured Assistant Professor Giorgio Beretta and Assistant Professor Claudio Cipollini. They provided students with a brief yet comprehensive overview of EU tax law, followed by the discussion of practical cases related to direct and indirect taxation.
The lecture concluded with an engaging question-and-answer session, offering students the opportunity to deepen their understanding and interact directly with the guest lecturers.

Assistant Professor Giorgio Beretta serves as Assistant Professor in Indirect Taxation at the University of Amsterdam (UvA) and is a member of the Amsterdam Centre for Tax Law (ACTL). In addition to his academic role, he is a practicing Italian tax lawyer and a member of the editorial boards of leading international tax journals such as Intertax and Highlights & Insights on European Taxation.
