EPOKA University is proud to inform that Dr. Erion Luga, Head of the Department of Civil Engineering and our alumni Mr. Erion Periku conducted a very successful research work titled “A pioneer in-situ investigation on the bearing capacity and failure causes of real scale fully grouted rock bolts” which was published in “Construction and Building Materials”, one of the highest ranked journals on innovative and original research and development in the field of construction and building materials, indexed within SCIE (Web of Science), Scopus etc. with an Impact Factor of 6.141.
The study presents a thorough scientific research on the bearing capacity and failure causes of fully grouted rock bolts. The experimental campaign consisted on the pull-out tests of 144 real scale in-situ rock bolts, conducted on Fan River hydropower plant’s power tunnels in Rreshen region, Albania.
