Doctorate (PhD) in Civil Engineering
The objective of the doctoral study program is the advancement of analytical and/or experimental knowledge through a combination of specialized courses and a research thesis under the supervision of an experienced researcher forms the main component of the doctoral programs. The PhD study program for full-time students lasts for a minimum of six semesters (three academic years), up to a maximum of eight semesters (four academic years) and for part-time students, it lasts for a minimum of six semesters (three academic years), up to a maximum of twelve semesters (six academic years). The first year is devoted to the core courses. Formal work on the dissertation begins in the second year; students are encouraged to get the start on their thesis by research and writing.
