Bachelor in Civil Engineering (3 years)
The Civil Engineering programme is based on a three-year Bachelor's degree. The first year of the programme is dedicated to the study of basic sciences and mathematics, which provide the student with engineering fundamentals. The second and third years are mainly composed of fundamental engineering courses involving the study and application of the principles of geotechnical engineering (behaviour of soils, design of foundations), structural engineering (analysis and design of reinforced concrete and steel structures), hydraulic engineering (flow of water in pipes, water resources), and the general systems approach to engineering problems. Students are also introduced to construction management and economics, which are essential to every practising engineer. Summer practice at the end of the second and third years, alongside final-year courses, aim to provide students with a comprehensive Civil Engineering perspective.
The programme's curriculum includes elective courses, giving students the opportunity to enhance their professional skills according to their interests. Some of these are non-technical and free elective courses, while the remainder are Civil Engineering electives. The requirements for a Diploma in Civil Engineering include the completion of a minimum of 180 ECTS credits of formal coursework and 30 days of approved practical training.
The Civil Engineering programme at EPOKA University offers a comprehensive and dynamic curriculum designed to prepare students for successful careers in the field of civil engineering. The programme, structured over three years, begins with a strong foundation in basic sciences and mathematics, gradually progressing to specialised courses in geotechnical engineering, structural engineering, hydraulic engineering, and construction management.
In the global industry, there is a strong demand for civil engineers, particularly those who combine technical skills with good communication and teamwork abilities. Graduates of the department qualify for responsible positions in the civil engineering industry in analysis, design, and construction management.
