EPOKA University has appointed Dr. Esmir Demaj as its Sustainability Officer, marking an important step in strengthening its commitment to sustainability, transparency, and responsible governance. This appointment comes at a time when non-financial reporting is becoming a legal requirement and a key pillar for institutional accountability and long-term value creation.
Through the Decision of the Directors of “Turgut Ozal Education” JSC No. 08, dated 03.04.2026, Dr. Demaj will serve for the whole Turgut Ozal Education JSC company level including EPOKA University, ensuring a coordinated approach to the development and implementation of sustainability reporting practices in line with international standards. This includes coordinating the preparation of the organization’s ESG reports, which assess performance across environmental, social, and governance dimensions, and reflect the institution’s impact on society and the environment.
At EPOKA University, the Sustainability Officer will work closely with academic and administrative units to integrate sustainability principles into institutional strategy, operations, and quality assurance processes, and will also support the alignment with frameworks such as the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), which are gradually becoming applicable in the region.
Beyond compliance, this initiative reflects a broader vision to embed sustainability into the culture and decision-making processes of the university. Through this role, EPOKA University aims to contribute to sustainable development goals, enhance institutional resilience, and further improve its academic offer for responsible and future-oriented education.
