You are invited to participate in a 4-day intensive workshop, between May 25-29, at Epoka University focused on the application of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) within the built environment.
The workshop will be conducted and directed by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Artan Hysa, who is a Research Associate at Technical University of Munich- TUM.
GIS APPLICATIONS IN SPATIAL ANALYSIS
The program is designed to provide students with the tools necessary to justify design decisions through evidence-based mapping. Key learning outcomes include:
Data Integration: Students will learn to bridge the gap between official government data (ASIG) and global crowdsourced maps (OSM).
Spatial Analysis: The curriculum moves beyond basic radial diagrams to utilize network analysis for calculating real pedestrian walking distances and urban accessibility.
Historical Context: Participants will use georeferencing to align historical maps with modern satellite imagery, allowing for the identification of urban growth layers.
Professional Output: The workshop concludes with a technical pipeline for advanced cartographic styling and professional-grade site analysis.
