The Banking and Finance Department in collaboration with the Economics Department is proud to announce the successful organization of a dual prestigious study visit to the World Trade Organization (WTO) headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland and to the Swiss Finance Museum in Zürich. 

The scheduled visit to the World Trade Organization represents a remarkable opportunity for EPOKA students to explore deeper into the evolution, history, functions, mission, legislative framework, financial dynamics, and overall oeuvre of the WTO, which took place from April 24th to April 26th, 2024.

Led by Dr. Chryanthi Balomenou, Dr. Fatbardha Morina and Dr. Arjona Çela, a team of 11 students embarked on this enlightening journey, eager to explore the intricacies of global commerce and diplomacy. In the World Trade Organization apart from having the chance of a short tour in the beautiful buildings and gardens of WTO located in front of the famous Geneva Lake, students were privileged to actively attend a very excellent presentation, being delivered by Dr. Timothy Adamson, executive of WTO. 

During this meeting EPOKA students made use of the opportunity to pose questions / comments, exchange ideas, as far as finding out how the reliable theoretical grounds that they had already taught are reflected and implementing in practice. 

This also gave Dr. Balomenou the opportunity to present EPOKA University, its qualitative performance, academic status, and position in Western Balkans and highlighting its international orientation and entrepreneurial culture.  Additionally, they engaged in a constructive discussion, exchanging ideas and possibilities offered by the WTO for initiating further collaborative activities.

During the visit to the Swiss Finance Museum, both professors and students enjoyed a unique guided tour. The tour traced the origins of financial life, journeying through a series of milestones to explore the establishment and development of Switzerland's dynamic and renowned banking system.
