A team from the Department of Law at EPOKA University recently took part in the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot, one of the most well-known moot court competitions for law students worldwide. The team included Artela Roshi, Artemis Senja, Megi Musabelliu, Greta Deliallisi, and Leonardo Bezhi.
The Vis Moot focuses on a dispute arising out of a contract of sale between two countries that are parties to the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG), giving students practical experience in international commercial law and arbitration.
The EPOKA team competed against universities such as Kuwait International Law School, Dalian Maritime University, University of Münster, and Yale University. The sessions were challenging, with tribunals posing several questions during the hearings.
Artela, Megi, Greta, and Leonardo performed well and received encouraging feedback from the arbitrators on their presentations.
The team was coached by Dr. Dini Sejko and Gentjan Skara. EPOKA University thanks both coaches for their dedication and also expresses appreciation to the Albanian-American Development Fund (AADF) for their funding through a READ project on international arbitration, which aims to help develop arbitration practices in Albania.
