We are honored to host Dr. Sabiha Allouche, Senior Lecturer in Middle East Politics at the University of Exeter, UK, for an insightful talk titled:
š āGender and Migrationā
In this session, Dr. Allouche will explore how gender impacts migration experiences and anti-immigration discourse. Drawing on intersectional, feminist, and queer International Relations and migration theories, she will shed light on how migrants are often classified along binary notions of āgoodā and ābadā citizensācategories shaped by both global power structures and regional dynamics. She will also reflect on the broader implications of these patterns, particularly in light of rising anti-gender backlash across various regions, with a focus on Lebanon.
