Epoka University Hosts International Summer School on Albania’s EU Accession Journey
As Albania continues its efforts toward European Union membership by 2030, the Department of Law and the Centre for European Studies at Epoka University, in cooperation with the Centre International de Formation Européenne (CIFE) and the AMAD Centre, organized the international Summer School titled “Albania: From its Cultural Heritage to the Accession Process”, held from July 2–8, 2025, at the Epoka University campus in Tirana.
The opening ceremony featured welcome remarks by Prof. Dr. Ahmet Öztaș, Rector of Epoka University; Voltiza Prendi, Executive Director of the AMAD Centre; and Marie-France Perdigon, Director of the Summer University Programme at CIFE.
The Summer School brought together Albanian and international students from countries such as Canada, Belgium, France, the Netherlands, Norway, and Australia, offering them an in-depth overview of Albania’s integration path into the EU. The academic program featured lectures and discussions led by prominent scholars and representatives of civil society, covering key aspects such as law, economics, security, and cultural heritage.
In addition to the academic sessions, students participated in field visits to public institutions and explored Albania’s cultural landmarks through guided excursions to the historic cities of Durrës, Kruja, and Berat.
Epoka University extends its gratitude to all speakers, partners, and participants who contributed to the success of this Summer School. We look forward to continuing our joint efforts in promoting dialogue and academic engagement on European integration in the years to come.
