Epoka University had the pleasure of welcoming back MSc. Kristjana Doka, an alumna of the Architecture Department and a specialist in Fire Safety Engineering, for an open lecture on Fire Engineering, Architecture, Sustainability, and Emerging Technologies.
After completing her Master’s degree in Fire Safety Engineering, Kristjana joined the Arup Fire Engineering team, where she is currently involved in major international projects.
During her presentation, Kristjana provided a comprehensive overview of the fire risks associated with modern building materials and construction techniques, emphasizing the importance of integrating fire safety considerations from the early design stages. She also shared practical insights and case studies from her professional experience at Arup, illustrating how engineering solutions can ensure both architectural innovation and user safety.
Her lecture offered valuable perspectives on the interdisciplinary collaboration between architecture and fire engineering, encouraging students to approach design with greater awareness of material behavior, risk assessment, and safety performance.
