On December 2nd, the second-year Bachelor students of Economics participated in an educational study visit to the Bank of Albania. The activity was organized as part of their academic program by their lecturers, Dr. Imeraj and Dr. Rada, with the aim of enriching students’ understanding of monetary policy, financial institutions, and the historical development of currency in Albania.
During the visit, students had the opportunity to explore the Museum of the Bank of Albania, where they were introduced to the evolution of money—from early forms of exchange to modern banknotes and coins. Through guided explanations and interactive displays, students learned about major milestones that shaped the Albanian financial system, the role of the central bank, and the importance of maintaining monetary and financial stability.
This visit provided an excellent opportunity for students to connect theoretical knowledge with real-world insights, deepen their curiosity, and gain a broader perspective on the functioning of the central banking system. The Department of Economics remains committed to encouraging experiential learning activities that complement classroom teaching and support students’ academic and professional development.
