On 28 April 2026, the Department of Civil Engineering at EPOKA University hosted the Circular Construction Workshop & Virtual Tour in the university's Conference Hall. The event opened with remarks from Assoc. Prof. Dr. Edmond Manahasa, Dean of the Architecture and Engineering Faculty, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mirjam Ndini, Head of the Civil Engineering Department.
A major highlight of the programme was the international collaboration with Odisee University of Applied Sciences in Belgium. Researcher Stijn Dauwe presented on the principles and applications of circular construction, which was immediately followed by an interactive virtual tour of a container unit led by Nicolas Beckers.
The gathering was an opportunity to explore sustainable building practices. Nilson Hoxha from Sika Albania SHPK shared practical industry insights on enabling sustainable construction. Furthermore, academic research was showcased by PhDc Angela Girardo from the University of Naples Federico II, who discussed urban mining and the recycling of contaminated waste, and Noemi Bozo from EPOKA's Department of Architecture, who evaluated rooftop-controlled environment agriculture across various European climates.
The event concluded with open discussions among attendees on shaping the future of circular construction.
