Climate justice is not only a policy goal—it is a question of legal responsibility and institutional capacity.
In response to Albania’s growing need to strengthen climate governance and align with European standards, the funded project will assess existing institutional and legal mechanisms, identify key gaps in climate accountability, and develop evidence-based recommendations grounded in best practices, linking legal analysis with policy relevance to enhance institutional accountability and improve governance frameworks in Albania.
EPOKA University has been awarded funding under the National Research and Development Program (PKKZH) 2026 by AKKSHI for the project “Climate Justice and State Responsibility: Challenges of Legal and Institutional Reforms in Albania from the Perspective of European Standards,” which examines Albania’s legal and governance framework in addressing climate accountability within the context of European integration.
We look forward to the project’s contribution.
Congratulations to Ada Güven, Bojana H., Reina Zenelaj, Jubjana Vila, Morena Mulhaxhia, Dea Bashkurti!
