On May 15, the Department of Banking and Finance at Epoka University organized an open lecture featuring Mrs. Mimoza Hadarmataj, a representative of the Albanian Insurance Association. The event provided students with an excellent opportunity to gain first-hand knowledge of the Albanian insurance industry and to better understand its role within the country's financial system.
During the lecture, Mrs. Hadarmataj presented a comprehensive overview of the insurance market in Albania, introducing students to the main insurance products and services available, as well as the structure and functioning of the sector. She highlighted the importance of insurance in mitigating financial risks for individuals, businesses, and the economy, emphasizing its contribution to financial stability and sustainable economic development.
The session also explored the ongoing evolution of the Albanian insurance market, focusing on recent industry trends, regulatory developments, digital transformation, and the growing need to enhance financial literacy and customer awareness. In addition, students were introduced to the key challenges currently facing insurance companies, including market competitiveness, product innovation, consumer trust, and adapting to an increasingly dynamic financial environment.
The lecture concluded with an interactive discussion, during which students had the opportunity to engage directly with the guest speaker by asking questions and discussing career opportunities, industry expectations, and the future prospects of the insurance sector in Albania.
