On 1 June 2026, Dr. Chrysanthi Balomenou, Lecturer in Banking and Finance at the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Epoka University, had the honour of delivering a series of lectures as visiting academic staff at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME), addressing Master's and PhD students. The lectures, entitled “The Future of the Banking System in a Digitalised Environment,” explored the profound transformation of the banking sector in the era of digitalisation. Particular emphasis was placed on the strengths and weaknesses of contemporary banking systems, as well as the opportunities and challenges emerging from technological innovation, digital finance, and the rapidly evolving global financial landscape. The sessions provided a valuable platform for academic exchange and discussion with a highly motivated and intellectually engaged audience.
