The Department of Banking and Finance is proud to announce the presentation of the research paper entitled “The Impact of Macroeconomic Factors on the Yield of an S&P 500 Portfolio” at the International Conference on Economic and Social Studies (ICESoS 2026), hosted by International Burch University in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, on 12 June 2026.

The research was conducted by MSc Bjorni Merko, Teaching Assistant, and Dr. Chrysanthi Balomenou, Lecturer in the Department of Banking and Finance. Representing Epoka University, Mr. Merko presented the study to an international audience of academics, researchers, and professionals, contributing to scholarly discussions on contemporary issues in finance and macroeconomics.

The paper examines the relationship between key macroeconomic variables and the performance of an S&P 500 investment portfolio, providing empirical evidence on how changes in the macroeconomic environment influence portfolio returns. By addressing an important topic in financial economics, the study contributes to the growing body of research on investment decision-making, portfolio management, and the interaction between macroeconomic conditions and capital markets.
