In a unique collaboration between the Continuous Education Center of EPOKA University and the Tek Bunkeri NGO, a group of architecture students embarked on a moving exhibition and activity on April 13, 2024, titled "The Present Past."
The exhibition attracted over 400 participants from across the country, mainly young people who, besides visiting one of the infamous political prisons of the totalitarian period, also had the opportunity to see the masks of disguise of 49 former political prisoners in the Spaç prison, as well as to hear their recorded and documented stories of suffering and repression caused under the conditions of a dictatorship and censorship.
Former prisoners were also present at the exhibition, participating in discussions and dialogues with the younger generations who were interested in learning about a past that still leaves traces today as material and non-material heritage. This exhibition is an artistic-cultural act that culminates with the presence of the public, youth, institutions, and everyone as active actors in building a society.
