EPOKA University is proud to announce that a research project led by members of its academic staff has been selected for funding under the National Research and Development Programme (NRDP) by the National Agency for Scientific Research and Innovation (NASRI).
The project, entitled “Verification of the EC8 Design Spectra for Albania in the Framework of the Updated National Seismic Hazard Model,” has been awarded funding in the field of Information Systems and Technologies for a two-year implementation period.
The project aims to enhance earthquake-resistant structural design in Albania by validating the Eurocode 8 (EC8) design spectra based on the country’s updated National Seismic Hazard Model. The research will contribute to the implementation of the Second Generation of Eurocodes and support the development of safer and more resilient infrastructure through evidence-based engineering solutions.
The project is coordinated by Dr. Anila Xhahysa, with the research team comprising:
This achievement highlights EPOKA University’s growing research capacity and its commitment to advancing scientific excellence through competitive national and international research funding. By addressing a critical issue related to seismic safety and infrastructure resilience, the project demonstrates the University’s dedication to producing research with tangible societal impact.
The Research and Projects Office congratulates the project team on this significant accomplishment and remains committed to supporting EPOKA researchers in developing high-quality research proposals, strengthening national and international collaborations, and increasing the University’s participation in competitive research and innovation programmes.
Congratulations to the entire project team, and we wish them every success throughout the implementation of this important research initiative.
