EPOKA University has added a new Jean Monnet Module to its portfolio of European Union-funded projects, further strengthening the University’s engagement with EU-funded research, education, and international academic cooperation.

The three-year Jean Monnet Module “Circular Economy and Sustainable Production Models in the European Union: Lessons and Policy Transfer for Albania (EU-CE4AL)” officially began in October 2026 and is coordinated by EPOKA University.

The project brings together academics from Albania, Italy, Germany, and Romania and focuses on EU policies and approaches related to the circular economy, sustainable production models, and the European Green Deal, while examining their relevance and potential application in the Albanian context.

The kick-off meeting marked the beginning of the three-year implementation period. The project team discussed the planned activities, objectives, responsibilities, and opportunities for collaboration among the participating institutions.

Throughout the project, EU-CE4AL will include teaching and research activities, summer schools, guest lectures, public panels, study visits, and a final symposium. These activities will support knowledge exchange and dialogue among academic institutions and stakeholders from business, public institutions, and civil society.

The implementing team includes:

  • Assoc. Prof. Dr. Elda Dollija, EPOKA University – Coordinator
  • Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gentjan Skara, EPOKA University
  • Dr. Kriselda Gura, EPOKA University
  • Prof. Gianluca Mattarocci, Tor Vergata University, Rome, Italy
  • Prof. Tetyana Vasilyeva, TU Bergakademie Freiberg, Germany
  • Prof. Mile Vasić, SRH University Berlin, Germany
  • Prof. Jean Vasile Andrei, Petroleum-Gas University of Ploiesti, Romania

The project is funded by the European Union under the Jean Monnet Actions of the Erasmus+ Programme.

The addition of EU-CE4AL to EPOKA University’s project portfolio reflects the continued involvement of the University’s academic community in European projects and international partnerships, creating further opportunities for research, teaching, knowledge exchange, and cooperation with institutions across Europe.

The Research and Project Office at EPOKA University supports the University community in developing and implementing externally funded projects and in expanding opportunities for international research and academic collaboration.
