The 34th session of the YSBC Web Lecture Series was held on 21 March 2022, at 1:00 pm GMT, via Zoom Webinar. Mrs. Klea Mara, assistant of YCSBS of Epoka University attended the Web Lecture. This session was focused on “Student’s Response to Social Business Initiatives” and had amazing speakers: Dr. Enrico Testi, Executive Director, ARCO; Director, Yunus Social Business Centre University of Florence, Italy and Moderator Dr. Farhana Ferdousi, Assistant Professor, Southeast Business School & Director, Institute of Research & Training (IRT), Southeast University, Bangladesh.
This web lecture by YSBC was truly amazing! It was quite motivational and inspiring. Dr. Enrico Testi talked about how we all, especially young students, can take great initiatives to create a social business. It was also quite interesting to know that many researchers are engaged in the growing world of social business. This lecture mentioned some important highlights regarding social business and high-school students. High-school students were in great focus because being at such a young age, they need to make decisions for their future and these decisions need to have a vision that can change this future. They can be the generation that can change the world through the creation of social businesses that solve different environmental problems. Students were encouraged to participate in different competitions that can “awaken” their entrepreneurial spirit in them, and they were also encouraged to engage in different clubs that have a focus on solving ecological problems (for example finding solutions on how to improve the issue of climate change). YCSBS at Epoka University also encourages its students to participate in this kind of competitions. The upcoming 4th Social Business Day has as at focus the "Business Project Competition". The students of Epoka University are highly encouraged to participate in this event by taking part in the competition with their social business plan ideas and be one of the competing teams during the 4th Social Business Day.
