EPOKA University proudly participated in the LEADALKO Study Visit & Research Seminar held in the picturesque coastal town of Piran, Slovenia. The event brought together academic and institutional partners from Albania, Kosovo, Slovenia, and Malta, all working toward a common goal: fostering leadership excellence within higher education institutions.
Representing EPOKA University were Dr. Niuton Mulleti, Dr. Reina Zenelaj Shehi, and Dr. Jubjana Vila, who took active roles in the seminar's discussions, workshops, and strategy-building sessions.
Main Focus:
The core mission of the gathering was to further shape and design the Leadership Development Programme for universities in Albania and Kosovo, focusing on equipping academic leaders with strategic tools and frameworks for institutional growth.
Key Highlights from the Seminar:
Exploration of leadership models and best practices from the UK, Slovenia, Malta, and Italy
Reflections and lessons from EU-funded initiatives such as MORHEL, MHELM, and iHiLEAD
Findings from a training needs analysis involving over 150 participants, guided by the HELQS framework
Presentation of the initial results of a 360-degree leadership appraisal tool, offering key insights for future development
This seminar was also marked by the 2nd Transnational Project Meeting, where partners reviewed and planned key aspects of the project—ranging from quality assurance and financial oversight to future implementation steps.
Co-funded by the European Union, the LEADALKO initiative represents a significant step toward capacity building and strategic leadership enhancement in the region’s higher education systems.
What’s Next?
The next milestone for the consortium will be in Malta, from September 02–04, 2025, where the piloting phase of the Leadership Development Programme will be mapped out and coordinated.
This participation reflects EPOKA University’s ongoing commitment to academic excellence, cross-border collaboration, and leadership innovation in higher education.
