The Head of the Department of Law, Dr Gentjan Skara, participated in the Conference “30 Years of Partnership and Progress: Albania, the Council of Europe and the Venice Commission”, organised by the Parliament of Albania.
The conference was organized in three discussion tables, divided into three different panels. Dr Skara was invited to the third panel on the topic “Constitutional Justice”, which focused on constitutional justice and its role in protecting human rights, the control of the constitutionality of laws and other normative acts in Albania, the independence of the judiciary, the judicial map, integrity, and professionalism.
Part of the panel were Mr. Darian Pavli, Judge at the European Court of Human Rights for Albania, Mr. Philip Dimitrov, former judge of the Constitutional Court, former member of the Venice Commission, Bulgaria, Mr. Taulant Balla, Chairman of the Socialist Party Parliamentary Group, Ms. Jorida Tabaku, Chairperson of the Commission for Human Rights and Public Media, Ms. Erinda Ballanca, People's Advocate of Albania, Ms. Aurela Anastasi, Lecturer of Constitutional Law, University of Tirana, Ms. Fiona Papajorgji, Judge of the Constitutional Court.
