EPOKA University and University of Rome Tor Vergata Discuss Research and Doctoral Synergy

In a significant step toward deepening international academic cooperation, a high-level delegation from EPOKA University met with senior leadership at the University of Rome Tor Vergata to explore joint research and mobility initiatives under the Erasmus+ KA171 framework.  

The EPOKA team, composed of Dr. Armando Demaj (Head of the International Relations and Research and Projects Offices), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gentjan Skara (Head of the Department of Law), Dr. Ada Guven (Head of Institutional and Legal Affairs), Dr. Elda Dollija (Lecturer in Business Administration), and Ms. Mikaela Suslu (Assistant Lecturer in Business Administration), engaged in a series of strategic sessions moderated by Professor Gianluca Mattarocci. Serving as the Erasmus+ Academic Coordinator for the School of Economics and the Director of the Bachelor in Business Administration & Economics, Professor Mattarocci played a pivotal role in orchestrating the exchange, driving the mission forward to create lasting professional bonds between the two institutions. 

A primary highlight of the visit was the high-level meeting with Professor Bianca Sulpasso, the Rector’s Delegate for International Relations, whose presence underscored the institutional importance of this partnership and set the stage for a comprehensive institutional overview delivered by Florinda Magliulo. This executive introduction was followed by specialized insights into the host university’s project landscape, where Francesca Dominici, Head of the Research Office, detailed current research initiatives, and Alma Orazi presented the successful implementation of Erasmus+ projects at Tor Vergata.

Representing EPOKA University, Dr. Armando Demaj delivered a presentation highlighting the institution's robust capacities in research and projects, alongside its extensive international relations network in student and staff mobilities. The morning sessions concluded with Ms. Federica Giacomi, who detailed the mechanics of Erasmus+ mobilities within the Tor Vergata system.  

A key highlight of the afternoon was the meeting with Dr. Giovanni La Rosa, Head of the PhD School. The dialogue focused on advanced academic cooperation, specifically discussing the development of joint or double-degree PhD programs to provide doctoral students from both institutions with enhanced research opportunities and global recognition.
