The Department of Computer Engineering at Epoka University is honored to host Prof. Dr. Yannis Manolopoulos, a distinguished academic and researcher, on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at 12:30 PM in the Conference Hall.
Prof. Manolopoulos is a Member of the Section in Informatics at Academia Europaea, Professor Emeritus of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and the Open University of Cyprus, and a Board Member of the University of Macedonia. With an extensive career spanning global academia and research, he has authored over 350 papers and supervised 27 doctoral graduates.
His lecture will focus on Scientometrics, a field dedicated to measuring and analyzing science, technology, and innovation. Highlighting milestone metrics such as the Impact Factor and h-index, Prof. Manolopoulos will discuss advancements using AI and information retrieval techniques while emphasizing the essential role of human insight in understanding science dynamics.
