The Department of Architecture at EPOKA University is pleased to invite you to an Open Lecture organized by Head and Lecturer Dr. Egin Zeka, titled “Fire Engineering Architecture, Sustainability, and Emerging Technologies.”

The lecture will be delivered by MSc. Kristjana Doka, a Fire Engineer with a strong background in architecture. Kristjana graduated from EPOKA University in 2016 and completed a joint Master’s degree in Fire Safety Engineering from Ghent University (Belgium), Lund University (Sweden), and the University of Edinburgh (Scotland) in 2019. Since then, she has worked in Belgium and the Netherlands, contributing to a wide range of projects, including prisons, museums, residential, and commercial buildings.
Currently part of the Arup Fire Engineering team, Kristjana focuses on innovative and performance-based fire safety solutions, with a particular interest in evacuation modelling and sustainable design integration.
This open lecture will explore the evolving role of fire engineering in the built environment—highlighting how fire safety, sustainability, and emerging technologies intersect to enhance building resilience and performance.
