EPOKA University took part in the GreenWB Project Training Week and Steering Committee Meeting, held from May 26 to 30, 2025, at the University of Vaasa in Finland. The delegation included Prof. Dr. Ahmet Öztas, Dr. Esmir Demaj, Dr. Armando Demaj, and Dr. Besjon Zenelaj, representing EPOKA’s strong commitment to the project’s goals of advancing green transformation and workforce development in the Western Balkans.
The week brought together key partners from academia, industry, and vocational institutions across Europe, providing a dynamic platform for exchange and collaboration. The EPOKA team actively participated in a rich program of events, including presentations, site visits, workshops, and strategic planning sessions. A particular focus was placed on Work Package 6 (WP6), which aims to develop tailored portfolios and services for Smart Living Labs (SLL). EPOKA representatives contributed to the discussions on the progress achieved of GreenWB work packages, reinforcing the importance of alignment and measurable outcomes.
Visits to Vaasa’s leading innovation hubs—Technobothnia and VEBIC—offered practical insights into cutting-edge research infrastructures that support green and smart technologies, sparking ideas for regional adaptation. The presentations from local industry partners demonstrated effective models for collaboration between academia and the private sector on environmental sustainability.
The training week experience provided not only valuable professional exchange but also strengthened partnerships and reinforced shared commitment across the consortium to building a more sustainable and skilled future.
