The United Nations Simulation School is a one-day academic simulation organized by the
Political Science and International Relations Department. The event is planned to take place
during the Spring Semester of 2026 on campus and will gather university and high school
students from across the country.
This simulation is structured around two parallel committees: the Disarmament and International
Security Committee (DISEC) and the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC).
Participants, acting as representatives of different countries, will engage in structured debates on
key global issues, including the proliferation of chemical and biological weapons and the judicial
protection of human rights, particularly focusing on the global debate surrounding the death
penalty.
The primary purpose of UN Simulation School is to provide students with a practical and
immersive learning experience that complements theoretical knowledge in political science and
international relations. Through simulation, students gain a deeper understanding of how
international institutions—particularly the United Nations—function in practice.
Target group of participants: High school students or University students interested in
studying in the Political Science and International Relations Department.
The activity aims to:
- Develop students’ skills in diplomacy, negotiation, and public speaking
- Strengthen analytical thinking and decision-making abilities
- Encourage research, teamwork, and policy-oriented discussions
- Expose students to real-world global challenges in a structured academic environment
An important component of this initiative is the provision of scholarship opportunities for
participants, which further increases student motivation and engagement. The proposed
scholarship scheme includes:
1. 70% scholarship
2. 50% scholarship
3. 50% scholarship
These incentives aim to reward excellence, encourage active participation, and support talented
students in their academic development. Since the target group is mixed at the high school and
university level, the scholarships can be used at the bachelor’s or master’s degree.
The United Nations Simulation School is a strategically important academic activity that
enhances experiential learning, strengthens the Department's visibility, and aligns with
international educational practices in political science and international relations. At last, this
simulation will enhance EPOKA University’s reputation for civic engagement and fostering
youth diplomacy.
