Teaching Assistants perform a range of activities such as supporting the course instructor during the teaching time with integrative and practice-based activities, seminars and laboratories, communicating course materials to students, assisting the course instructor in taking the attendance signatures of the students and attending class lectures.

Teaching Assistants will be both Master of Science students (in the case of integrated second cycle study programs, they will be students enrolled in the 4^th and 5^th year of the said study program) and part-time assisting academic staff members of EPOKA University, which means that they will be part of the institutional provisions with regard to remuneration as well as social security and health insurance. Teaching Assistants belong to the “part-time assisting academic staff” category.

The employment status of Teaching Assistants will apply to the normal duration of studies. In case of extension of studies beyond the normal period of studies, the employment status of Teaching Assistants will come to an end.

APPLICATION TIMELINE FOR APPLICATIONS FOR TEACHING ASSISTANT POSITIONS FOR THE 2023-2024 ACADEMIC YEAR

The deadlines for the applications for Teaching Assistant positions for the 2023-2024 academic year shall be as follows:

• Applications by candidates:   September 08, 2023.
• Adoption of decisions:            September 22, 2024.

TEACHING ASSISTANTS AS PART-TIME ASSISTING ACADEMIC STAFF MEMBERS

• Graduates of EPOKA University should have a CGPA of at least 3.00 out of 4.00, whereas graduate from outside EPOKA University should have a CGPA of at least 9.00 out of 10.00 or equivalent to apply for the “Teaching Assistant” position.

• With regard to Integrated Second Cycle study programs should have completed the first 3 (three) academic years, have completed 180 ECTS and should have a CGPA of at least 3.00 out of 4.00 at the end of the sixth semester.

• At the end of each semester, the Teaching Assistant shall have a CGPA of at least 3.00 out of 4.00 in order to serve as a Teaching Assistant for the subsequent semester.

• At the end of each semester, the respective Department will submit a report on the performance evaluation of Teaching Assistants which will serve as the basis for the engagement of Teaching Assistants for the subsequent semester. In case of an unsatisfactory performance evaluation received by the Teaching Assistant, the employment status of the said Teaching Assistant will come to an end.
