Participation of Dr. Alba Gerdeci in the Kick-off Meeting of the Science in Diplomacy Network (SiDnet)

The Department of Law is proud to announce that Dr. Alba Gerdeci has been appointed MC Member for Albania and has been elected as Co-Leader of Working Group 4 - Communication, Dissemination, Training and Networking, within the newly launched COST Action CA24169 - Science in Diplomacy Network (SiDnet): Implementing Multilateral Policymaking in Intersectoral, Cross-Disciplinary & Strategic Domains.

The official Kick-off Meeting took place on 13 October 2025 in Brussels, marking the start of a major European initiative to strengthen the role of science in diplomacy and multilateral policymaking.

Chaired by Dr. Gianluigi Riva, SiDnet integrates diverse areas of expertise among its network members, including:

Political Science: International studies, strategic studies, human rights, global and transnational governance;
Law: Legal theory, comparative law, constitutional systems, environmental regulation, and climate negotiations;
Economics and Business: Management of technology and innovation;
Engineering and Technologies: Sustainability across technological domains.

Together, the members of this Action will foster dialogue between science and diplomacy, strengthen technological sovereignty, and build capacity for cooperation to address today’s complex global challenges.
