The Secretary General of the Assembly of Albania has officially announced a vacancy for one member of the High Council of Prosecution from among the academic staff of law faculties and the School of Magistrates.

This decision was adopted pursuant to Article 149 of the Constitution of the Republic of Albania and Articles 134, 135, and 137 of Law no. 115/2016 “On the Governance Bodies of the Justice System,” as amended.

The High Council of Prosecution is a constitutional body responsible for ensuring the independence, accountability, and proper functioning of the prosecution system. The inclusion of members from academia plays an important role in strengthening professional, academic, and ethical representation within the institution.

Eligible candidates must meet specific legal criteria, including Albanian citizenship, at least 15 years of professional experience as a jurist, and a minimum of 5 years of full-time academic experience in a law faculty or engagement with the School of Magistrates. Candidates must also hold the academic title of Professor or Lecturer and meet integrity requirements as defined by law.

Applicants are required to submit a complete application file, including supporting documentation such as a CV, proof of professional experience, self-declaration forms, and a personal platform outlining their objectives if selected.

Within 15 days of expressing interest, candidates must also submit declarations of assets and related documentation to the relevant authorities, in accordance with applicable legislation.

Higher education institutions and the School of Magistrates are required to initiate procedures for applications and verification within 7 days of the announcement.

All documentation must be submitted in Albanian, in original or notarized copies. False declarations will result in disqualification and may entail legal consequences.
