Dr. Heliona Miço, lecturer of public law at Epoka University participated on May 25, 2021, at the International Scientific Conference titled “Children in History - Dignity and Restrictions” organized on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the founding of the Academic Department: History of Education (1980-2020), University of Bialystok, Poland, with the paper “Barriers to implementation of the child’s rights to inclusive education: The case of Albania”.
The article focuses on an analysis of the right of the child to inclusive education in the framework of Albanian policies and legislation, highlighting the legal gaps that hinder the enjoyment and full realization of this right. The implementation of the right to education has found gaps in the current reality, which in a rapidly changing world requires the adaptation of this right to different needs of children. The paper also focuses on the adequate policies and legislation to provide inclusive education especially for the disadvantaged population groups.
