On June 2, 2022, EPOKA University welcomed Ms. Jutta Gützkow, Head of the Council of Europe in Tirana, to discuss “The role, agenda, and challenges of the Council of Europe Office in Albania”. Ms. Gützkow discussed the Council of Europe’s goals, activity, and contribution in Albania, emphasizing the institution’s involvement in standard-setting, monitoring, and technical collaboration on a variety of legal, social, political, and cultural matters.
The Council of Europe is implementing eight projects in Albania. Six of the initiatives, which are part of the Council of Europe’s and the European Union’s cooperation, aim to assist Albania and other Western Balkan countries in achieving European standards.
In this framework, participants engaged in the discussion had the opportunity to address questions to Ms. Gützkow, with a focus on the performance of the Council of Europe and the challenges that the institution is facing in Albania. In the end, Ms. Gützkow mentioned the internship and recruitment opportunities in the Council of Europe office in Albania but not only, and kindly invited students to apply.
