Dr. Alba Gerdeci Joins READ Alumni Trip to Pogradec for Networking and Cultural Exploration
On March 17-18, Dr. Alba Gerdeci, Lecturer at the Department of Law, participated in the READ Alumni trip to Pogradec, an initiative aimed at fostering connections among READ scholars while immersing them in Albania’s rich cultural and historical heritage.
The journey began with a visit to the Early Christian Basilica of Lin, a remarkable 6th-century monument known for its intricate mosaics and historical significance. The site offered a glimpse into Albania’s deep-rooted religious and architectural history.
Following the cultural exploration, the alumni engaged in an environmental initiative by participating in a tree-planting activity in the scenic Drilon-Tushemisht Park. This initiative not only strengthened the group’s bond but also contributed to the preservation of the local ecosystem, reinforcing READ's commitment to sustainability.
The trip concluded with a brainstorming session, where participants exchanged ideas on how the READ program can evolve to provide greater opportunities for future scholars. Discussions centered around enhancing networking opportunities, academic collaborations, and new initiatives to strengthen the program’s impact.
Dr. Gerdeci’s participation in this meaningful experience highlights her dedication to both academic enrichment and community engagement, reinforcing the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration and environmental awareness within the READ network.
