The SPIE Sensors+Imaging international event of 2025 in Madrid, held between September 15 and 18 of 2025, contained two symposia: Security and Defense as well as Environmental Remote Sensing. Mr. Gjerazi participated in the latter, under the Artificial Intelligence and Image and Signal Processing for Remote Sensing XXXI conference, during which he presented his work titled Synthesis of PRISMA data from Landsat 8 or 9 data using machine learning tools, on the first session of September 16, between 9:10 and 9:30 AM.
The work describes a novel technique for synthesizing PRISMA (hyperspectral) data from Landsat 8/9 (multispectral) data. The results were well received. Potential applications of this technique can be found in many different fields, from agriculture to marine and land biology, mineralogy, and possibly security.
This study will further Epoka’s Computer Engineering tradition of research intersecting computer vision with machine learning, by focusing on a relatively new subfield such as remote sensing."
